In a
statement on social media, country singer Bailey Zimmerman revealed more details about the cancellation of his Laughlin, Nevada, performance, which was supposed to take place at the Rio Vista Outdoor Amphitheater at Harrah’s on Saturday.“I am beyond disappointed, and I’m so sorry, but we have to cancel our show tonight in Laughlin, Nevada. Being completely transparent with y’all, this has nothing to do with me or my team.”
When he and his team arrived at the venue earlier in the day for the concert preparations, the country singer claimed there were noticeably unsafe conditions on the stage. “We showed up today fully prepared to end the “New to Country” Tour the RIGHT WAY, but due to unforeseen local production limitations and the stage being unsafe, it’s what we have to do.”
He further pointed out, “The safety of y’all, my band, and my crew is the most important thing to me, and I just can’t put y’all at risk.”
“I really hate disappointing you all, and I hate ending the tour this way,” Zimmerman continued. “But, like I said, it’s what I have to do.”
He added that all tickets will be fully refunded at the point of purchase.
The country singer didn’t reveal any details about the “unsafe” venue conditions that led to the concert cancellation. However, one fan who was supposed to be in the audience indicated that security may have been an issue.
“Security was in our hotel room [and] surrounding rooms ‘checking the windows’ around 2 p.m.,” the fan wrote. “Because our room has a vantage point to the stage.”
The Country Singer’s Concert Cancellation Occurred Just Days After the Assassination of Charlie Kirk
Zimmerman’s decision to cancel his outdoor concert occurred days after famed conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was fatally shot while at Utah Valley University.
The Turning Point USA founder and well-known President Trump ally was at the university as part of his The American Comeback Tour. The tour kicked off the same day as the shooting.
As he was discussing gun violence, Kirk was struck in the neck and was knocked to the ground. Although his team was able to get him to Timpanogos Regional Hospital, Kirk succumbed to his injuries.

President Trump announced Kirk’s passing on social media. “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead,” Trump stated. “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Utah resident Tyler Robinson, is in custody following a 33-hour manhunt.
