MomTok co-founder Taylor Frankie Paul will be looking to find love during Season 22 of The Bachelorette. She revealed the exciting news during this week’s episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast.
“You are on Call Her Daddy, so we can officially announce that you are this season’s Bachelorette,” the podcast’s host, Alex Cooper, declared.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives castmate shared her true feelings about being picked for The Bachelorette.
“Surreal. It has not hit me right now in this moment,” she revealed. “I’m just thinking about it, and it’s not real. And it’s not going to be until I think the limo is pulling up, you know? And meeting the people.”
Paul admitted to feeling “nervous” about being on the dating show. “How did I get here? In my head, I’m like, ‘How is this happening?’ That’s my answer,” she continued.
The rising reality TV star revealed that her appearance on The Bachelorette was originally a joke, sparked by a TikTok she made three years ago expressing her desire to be on the show. She admitted it was something she thought was “unattainable.”
“I don’t know if that got their attention,” she said about The Bachelorette producers. “It was mainly a joke to me. Then we had a meeting. I still didn’t believe it until I got the invitation, ‘Will you be our Bachelorette?’ Same reaction, pacing back and forth. There’s no way, no way.”
The Mormon Wives Star Admitted to Having Some Reservations About Being on The Bachelorette
While continuing to discuss her new reality TV role, Taylor Frankie Paul admitted she did have some reservations about taking on The Bachelorette.
“How do I make this work? I’m a co-parent, I have two baby daddies, not one, so I’m dealing with two different people, my children,” she recalled initially thinking. “My home base is here. Can I travel that long? Can I be gone that long?”
However, she started thinking about the other Mormon Wives castmates, Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt, who are appearing on this season of Dancing With the Stars,
“They brought their family out, but also they have their husbands,” Paul noted. “So, for me, I’m like, is this possible for me to do as a single mom? Can I make it work realistically, no matter how much I want this?”
She then said, “And I was like, I can. If you want to, you can. And it comes down to that, so I was just like, I will make it work. I can ask for help more.”
Although the news was shocking, Taylor’s family is “excited” about her being on the show.
“I think most of them are going to be happy for me and support me,” she said. “I can’t speak for everyone and what they actually truly think, you never really know. But I think we’re all kind of doing our own thing, so everyone is getting their own shots. It’s not just about her, her, her.”
Paul shocked the social media world in June 2022 when she revealed that she and her ex-husband, Tate Paul, were splitting up, leading to her disclosing details about the MomTok self-swing scandal.
Secret Lives of Mormon Wives followed Paul and the key members of the MomTok group in the aftermath of the scandal. During the first season of the show, Taylor is pregnant with her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen’s child. They called it quits last year.
Along with Dakota’s child, son Ever, Taylor shares two children, Indy and Ocean, with Tate.
